DIASPORA QUEER’D: A VISION

to be of service…

Diaspora Queered is a project that seeks to be of service to the soul, activism, and creative practice of POC + Queer artists.

The short-term vision of this organization is to simply ask the question of our fellow artist-scholars + performers: What do Queer Artists of Color need to thrive and create?

THE VISION FOR DIASPORA QUEERED IS:

  • to be of service to the soul, activism, and creative practice of POC + queer artists.

  • to foster studio spaces and a company of artists-scholar-devisers that center POC + Queer laboratory-based performance.

    • Devise Award-Winning New Works for the Stage & Site-Specific Performances

    • Develop an evolving pedagogy for acting and interdisciplinary performance-making

    • Conduct embodied research that contributed to the fields of Theatre, Black Queer Studies, and Performance.

  • to purchase and develop a multi-use property through organizing an Artist Condominium Association and residency program that fosters the economic sustainability and wellness of our company members and the communities we serve.

    • DQ’d Roastery & Coffee Bar

    • Community Garden

    • Art Gallery and workshop space
