Summer Devising & Physical Theater Lab
Interested in physical theatre training and experimental performance? Want to explore ensemble-based theatre-making through movement, sound, and embodied writing? Looking for for a creative tribe in which to grow artistically and create meaningful performances?
Then…
You are invited to an Interview and OPEN STUDIO WORKSHOP with Johann Montozzi-Wood (all pronouns).
This workshop process is for Durham-based artists, creatives, makers, and performers of any level who are curious about interdisciplinary practice, embodiment, and soulful collaboration and who are hungry to grow their acting and theatre-making skills in a courageous and creative space. This audition workshop is also a gateway to regular collaboration as part of the DQ’d and TheatreLab of Durham.
This company of artist is being formed with the intention to create original work for stage, film, and site-specific performance that moves audiences through song, images, and movement. We set an aim to premiere our first piece within the year with the intention to tour at national and international festivals. Training and collaboration is to being in March with regular in-person training, devising retreats, and rehearsals. Our hope is to create a sustainable and equitable company to be determined as the collective establishes itself through collective vision-making, intention-setting, and manifesto writing.
